The #MeToo movement showed the dark side of all the industries where women face harassment. Even in Bollywood, many names came into the spotlight who were accused of assault, harassment, and many such allegations. But, actor Mukesh Khanna feels otherwise. His recent statement has angered the netizens as he blamed that the #MeToo cases happened because women wanted to be equal with men.

Known as Shaktimaan and Bheeshma Pitamah of Television, Mukesh Khanna has been a well-known face of the Indian entertainment industry. In a recent interview with FilmyCharcha, he said, “Aurat ki rachna alag hoti hai aur mard ki alag hoti hai. Aurat ka kaam hai ghar sambhalna. Problem kahan shuru huyi #MeToo ki? Jab auraton ne bhi kaam karna shuru kar diya. Aaj aurat aadmi ke sath kandhey se kandha milane ni baat karti hai. Problem yahi se shuru hoti hai. Sabse pehle jo member suffer karta hai woh ghar ka bachcha suffer karta hai jisko maa nahi milti (A woman is different and a man is different. A woman's job is to take care of the house. The problem of #MeToo began when women moved out of the house and started working. Today she wants to work shoulder to shoulder with men. But more than that the child who travels has to be away from his mother. The child is forced to live with a nanny and sits with him as she is watching serial like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'. A man is a man and a woman is a woman)."

This did not go down well with netizens who called out his misogynistic mindset. They slammed for his views. After much backlash, on Saturday evening, he took to Twitter to say that he regrets he couldn't present his view correctly and that he has always respected women. He wrote, "मेरा फ़िल्मी सफ़र इस बात की पुष्टि करता है मैंने हमेशा नारियों की इज़्ज़त की है।इस बात को हर कलाकार या हर फ़िल्म यूनिट का मेम्बर जानता है कि मैंने हमेशा सबकी इज़्ज़त की है।अगर कोई भी नारी मेरे इस स्टेट्मेंट से आहत हुई हो तो मुझे अफ़सोस है कि मैं अपनी बात सही ढंग से नहीं रख पाया। (My film journey confirms that I have always respected the women. This is known to every artist or member of every film unit, that I have always respected everyone. If any woman is hurt by this statement I am sorry that I was not able to put my point correctly)."

Academy winner and James Bond actor Sean Connery has passed away at the age of 90. The Scottish-born actor was well-known for his portrayal of '007 on the big screen.

According to BBC, his death was confirmed by his family. The actor reportedly passed away in his sleep in the Bahamas. The actor was reportedly keeping unwell for a while.

He was a fan favourite actor. Sean Connery was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000. In August 2020, he celebrated his 90th birthday. In an August Radio Times poll in the U.K, more than 14,000 voted him as the best James Bond actor.

Known as the sharp and enigmatic actor, apart from being one of the all-time favourite James Bond, the later actor starred in films including The Wind and the Lion (1975), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). He won Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for The Untouchables (1987). He was last seen on the big screen in Stephen Norrington’s The League of Extraordinary Gentleman (2003).

Making an announcement on Twitter, Adil Hussain wrote, “This is a role that I am eagerly waiting to breathe life into. Wish us luck please. Shooting starts in Birmingham in December. Director @nathaliasyam thank you."

Footprints On Water is written by Neetha Syam and will be helmed by Nathalia Syam. The film will revolve around the character of an illegal immigrant in the UK who is in search of his daughter while he is trying to escape from the police.

Filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s film Atrangi Re has resumed production. The film, which stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan in the leading roles, will have Akshay Kumar in a special role. As the shooting had commenced in Lucknow, it had come to a halt amid the lockdown. As the makers are gearing up for the film, Dhanush has confirmed that he and music maestro AR Rahman have sung for the film.

Sharing a caricature-like selfie from the recording booth, Dhanush captioned it, “Had a blast singing and chatting with our very own Isai puyal @arrahman sir. #atrangire @aanandlrai @saraalikhan95.”

This year the fans have decided to take the celebrations, virtual. A fanclub will be hosting a virtual cake-cutting ceremony, according to a daily. The fans will get the virtual experience of being at Mannat from Sunday midnight through the live streaming. The birthday celebrations will involve an SRK quiz, virtual selfie booths, games, and a few performances. The fanclub member also revealed that they will donate 5555 Covid kits with masks and sanitisers, along with 5555 meals to the needy and also visit old age homes and orphanages.

After filing a defamation case in the Bombay High Court, Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt have released an official statement denying drug allegations made by Sumit Sabherwal’s estranged wife Luviena Lodh. The model-actor had claimed in an Instagram video that she was being harassed by her husband and Bhatt brothers. After appearing before the court earlier this week, she spoke to the media and said, “Mahesh Bhatt is the biggest don of the industry. If you don't play by his rules, he destroys your career and life." Furthermore, she stated if anything happens to her or her family, Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Sumit Sabherwal, Sahil Sehgal, and Kumkum Sehgal should be considered responsible for it.”

She added, “Everyone knows that every person who works for Vishesh Films (Bhatts' Production house) consumes drugs, but no one talks about the Bhatt family." She had also alleged that her estranged husband was Bhatts’ nephew and would supply drugs to celebrities including Amyra Dastur and Sapna Pabbi.

After her interaction with the media, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt released a joint statement denying all these allegations.

Here’s the full statement, according to Zee News:

“As a public figure, we have accepted that one’s private life can be the subject matter of curiosity, interest, scrutiny and gossip, often, intense, irresponsible or even unfair. we have regarded this as an occupational hazard and a part and parcel of life and therefore exercised great restraint in engaging with or responding to, the same.

We have however recently been at the receiving end of a vicious and malicious campaign launched by Ms. Luviena Lodh who falsely claims, her husband to be our nephew.

Ms. Lodh has, since 2016, been engaged in a matrimonial dispute with her husband Mr. Sumit Sabherwal who works for our company Vishesh Films. She has also been served recently with proceedings for evicting her from a residential flat which she is occupying. She has, therefore, as a litigation strategy, decided to personally target us and members of our family, by levelling scurrilous and grossly defamatory allegations, against us, in the hope that this will result in the eviction proceedings not being pursued.

Towards this end, Ms. Luviena Lodh published and circulated, on her Instagram account, a video making grossly defamatory, false, scurrilous and distasteful allegations against us. Since this was not idle gossip but a malicious attack, we both were constrained to file a defamation suit before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court. By its Order dated 26th October, 2020, the court restrained Ms. Lodh from making defamatory statements against us whether by way of circulating the said video or otherwise in any manner whatsoever.

In complete disregard thereto, Ms. Lodh has continued to peddle lies and falsehood to besmirch our reputation and malign our character. In her desperation to escape the eviction proceedings she held a press conference, where she reiterated her falsehood and even misrepresented the court order. The proceedings of the Press Conference has only served to expose what her real agenda is – use attacks on us and our family as a quid pro quo to escape eviction proceedings.

As we have already sought and secured legal protection and as the matter is sub-judice, we are taking legal advice on the further course of action to adopt.

In the meanwhile, we are making this statement to place on record that all allegations made by Ms. Lodh against us are false, incorrect and baseless. We are confident about our case and have complete faith that our stand will be judicially vindicated. We are confident that truth will prevail and unlike her, we do not need to take recourse to publicity stunts or malicious mud-slinging.”

In an official statement released by his lawyers, Sumit Sabherwal has said that he is not related to the Bhatt brothers. “The claims and contents of the video being circulated by our client’s estranged wife Mrs. Luveena Lodh are denied in toto,” the statement read.

“Our client expresses his deepest regret that the good name of Mr. Mahesh Bhatt & Mr. Mukesh Bhatt (herein after referred to as the Bhatt Brother’s) is being sullied solely due to his pending (since 2016) matrimonial dispute with his wife. It is made amply clear that our client is merely and employee of M/s Vishesh Films Pvt Ltd. and NOT related to either of the Bhatt Brother’s as has falsely and maliciously been sought to be made out by the video’s in question. Every attempt being made in order to formulate a relation between our client and the Bhatt brothers must be construed as a well-crafted conspiracy to precipitate and motivate a lucrative “settlement” for her disputes with our client; as is amply made clear in her interviews as well,” the statement read.

In her video, Lodh had claimed that Mahesh Bhatt was aware that her estranged husband supplied drugs and women to various actors. “If you don’t play by his rules, he will make life difficult for you. Mahesh Bhatt has ruined a lot of lives by putting them out of work. He makes one phone call and people lose their job. Ever since I filed a case against him, he has been trying to enter my house and remove me from this house. No one files my NC (non-cognizable complaint) either and even after great difficulty I manage to file an NC, no action is taken,” she said in the video.

It is to be noted that the Bhatts have sought one crore in damages and a restraining order from making any such false claims in the future in their defamation case filing against the actress.

Says Thailavi producer Shaailesh Singh, "Most of the public speeches of Jayalalithaaji we had already shot, only few such scenes are left, what we will shoot now, it will be according to COVID-19 guidelines and in those shots definitely if required we will use CG."

Apart from this, Varun Dhawan will be seen in Sanki and Coolie No. 1.

Before the lockdown began, Sonakshi Sinha had given her nod to Reema Kagti’s upcoming web series, Fallen. With Sonakshi in the lead, the series will also have the likes of Gully Boy fame Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, Sohum Shah among the others. Marking her first digital web series, Sonakshi Sinha along with the crew is expected to head to Rajasthan in December.

As per the makers, Reema Kagti will be taking a crew of 35 people with her on a week-long schedule. In this schedule, she plans to wrap the project from start to finish as discussed during the early days of the lockdown. With the situation getting better a little, Reema Kagti is all set to shoot for Fallen. Sonakshi Sinha who was last seen in Dabangg 3 will next be seen in Bhuj: The Pride Of India with Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles.

Fallen is said to release on Amazon Prime Video with the schedule wrapping in mid-January, 2021.

The most absurd and unreasonable thing that a scriptwriter can do is use the names of books and movies as props in an inappropriate context. Uttar Pradesh's 81-year-old popular Hindi novelist Surender Mohan Pathak was shocked when he saw his bestselling crime novel Dhabba in the disappointingly slapdash sequel to the web series Mirzapur 2. Neither the producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar nor the Mirzapur writers had approached Pathak before using his novel in their series.

This in itself is a serious copyright infringement. But what was to follow was worse. Actor Khulbushan Kharbanda was seen reading the novel Dhabba. But the content, as voiced in a voiceover was extremely erotic and according to Surender Mohan Pathak, pornographic. "I had written none of what was attributed to me by the voiceover in Dhabba. Imagine a generation that is not familiar with my work seeing and hearing what is credited to me Mirzapur. They will think I am a sleaze writer," says Pathak. And he's right.

Imagine if the audience enters to see Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai when suddenly a scene from Kya Kool Hain Hum begins to play. How would they feel? It is not only wrong to infringe on the creative domain of any artiste, it is a criminal offence to use anyone's creative output out of context. What a shame that producers like Sidhwani and Akhtar don't know the basic rules of generating content. Excel Entertainment has issued an apology and has promised to rectify the monstrous error in three weeks.

Three weeks? When the entire world would have already seen what's been done to the name and reputation of a well-known writer?

Producer Sunir Kheterpal has quit as CEO of Azure Entertainment. Sunir helped Azure to acquire the remake rights of many successful foreign films including the Spanish films The Invisible Guest and El Cuerpo which were remade in 2018 as Badla and in 2019 as The Body. Kheterpal also acquired the remake rights of the Hollywood film The Intern which was to star Rishi Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Rishi’s untimely death halted that project.

Kheterpal’s latest acquisition for Azure was the Korean Film The Terror Live which is rumoured to being remade into Hindi with Kartik Aryan in the lead and Ram Madhvani as director.

However sources close to the company say nothing has been finalized as yet. Sources say Kheterpal intends to set up his own production company. Announcements will happen shortly.

After huge anticipation, the makers of Heropanti 2 have finally announced Tara Sutaria as their female lead opposite Tiger Shroff in the second installment of the successful action franchise. The duo Tara Sutaria and Tiger Shroff will reunite on screen after two years. Earlier this year, producer Sajid Nadiadwala had announced Heropanti 2, and with the second installment of the action franchise, Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has planned to take this franchise to the next level in terms of scale, action, and all other aspects.

Heropanti 2 will be directed by Ahmed Khan who has earlier directed Baaghi 2 and Baaghi 3 from the Baaghi franchise. The first instalment of Heropanti worked wonders at the box office, and Tiger's performance was the highlight of the movie. Fans had loved Tara and Tiger's chemistry too and now with high octane action and under Sajid Nadiadwala's guidance, Heropanti 2 will surely be making new records.

While Alia Bhatt’s songs in Sanjay Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi are sung by Shreya Ghoshal, there is every chance that Alia Bhatt will be singing for herself in S S Rajamouli’s RRR. Again! Lest we forget Alia has earlier sung for herself in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway and in Shashank Khaitan’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya.

Says a source, “Alia has one big song-and-dance number in RRR which she may sing in her own voice. The only problem is her accent in Tamil and Telugu, in which case she will sing for herself only in the Hindi version of RRR.”

While in Gangubai Kathiawadi Alia’s titular character is on screen from the first frame to last, in RRR she has more of a cameo and may be billed as “guest star” in the credit title.

Kangana Ranaut once again has come under fire. A Mumbai Court has ordered an inquiry against Kangana and her sister Rangoli Chandel for allegedly spreading communal hatred.

According to Live Law India, “Court ordered an inquiry under Section 202 of CrPC and called for a police report on the allegations against the siblings. Judge Bhagwat T Zirape was hearing a complaint filed by Advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh for offences punishable under Sections 153-A, 153-B, 195-A, 298, 505 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Advocate Ali has recently filed another complaint against Kangana Ranaut before the Andheri Magistrate Court for allegedly causing disharmony between Hindus and Muslims and for allegedly mocking the judiciary after a Magistrate Court in Bandra ordered FIR to be registered against Kangana and her sister.”

Metropolitan Magistrate Bhagawat T Zirape also asked the police to submit the inquiry report by December 5, 2020. The complainant said that Rangoli Chandel had posted derogatory comments on Twitter related to members of the Tablighi Jamaat on April 15 following which her account was suspended. On April 18, Kangana supported her sister and posted a short video on various social media platforms allegedly calling the Jamaatis terrorists. Live Law further reported, “Thus, both the accused posted hateful and derogatory statements against Muslim community.”

According to the complaint, “They have misused social media platforms to gain cheap publicity and personal gain. The complainant approached Amboli police for taking action against the accused. However, police authorities have not taken any action against them. Thus, the accused have spread hatred against the Muslim community.”

Metropolitan Magistrate Bhagawat T Zirape said, “The alleged video is not available on record. Allegations are based on comments of the accused on the social media platforms. Evidence against the accused appears to be electronic in nature. Therefore, inquiry at the hands of police is necessary for proceeding against the proposed accused. Such inquiry will be helpful to decide the roles of the accused.”

Judge Jayadeo Dhule observed, “On prima facie perusal of complaint and submission I have found cognizable offence has been committed by the accused. Total allegations are based upon comment on electronic media that is Twitter and interviews. The accused used social media like twitter and thorough investigation is necessary by the expert. The all offences alleged and levelled against the accused are cognizable. Search and seizure is necessary in this case, in such circumstances I have found it to be proper to pass order under Section 156(3) of CrPC.”

One of the biggest hits of 2019 was Kesari, starring Akshay Kumar. The period action drama was loved for its massy treatment due to which it worked pan-India. And now if reports are to be believed, then this talented filmmaker is all set to direct Varun Dhawan in the Sajid Nadiadwala production, titled Sanki.

A source close to the project says, “Kesari was a very successful film and it got Anurag Singh noticed. He has already made a mark with some very entertaining films in Punjabi cinema and Kesari’s success gave a boost to his career. He was offered several films and finally he decided to come on board for Sanki. He knows the pulse of the audience and hence the team of the film feel he’ll be the right person to helm the subject of Sanki.” It is written by Rajat Arora and reportedly, it is an adaptation of a successful South film.

The source further adds, “Varun Dhawan will be playing to the gallery in this actioner. He has grown up enjoying such films and is happy that he’s finally getting a chance to act in this space. Audiences have accepted him in comic roles and with Sanki; they are going to love him in the action avatar as well.”

Varun Dhawan who was recently on multiple trips, to Goa and Maldives, is now all set to go back to the film sets. He’ll commence by shooting for Good Newwz (2019) director Raj Mehta’s Jug Jug Jiyo, co-starring Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. It goes on floors in November and will be filmed in Chandigarh, Mumbai and a foreign location. He’ll then proceed to Stree (2018) director Amar Kaushik’s Bhediya. It is reportedly a ‘dark monster comedy’ and that Shraddha Kapoor has been paired opposite him. It’s only after completing Bhediya that he’ll begin work on Sanki.

Incidentally, almost 10 years ago, there were rumours that Sajid Nadaidwala has titled Kick remake as Sanki. In an exclusive Bollywood Hungama interview in 2011, the filmmaker had refuted these rumours. The film was then named Kick (2014), just like its original version. “Sajid Nadiadwala has had the rights to the title with him since a long time. He felt it is apt for the Varun Dhawan-starrer and hence, decided to finally use this title.”

Mirzapur 2, after a long wait, was recently released on OTT platform and it had naturally given major content for memes on social media. Becoming one of the hot topics of discussion, Mirzapur 2 starred Ali Fazal, Divyenndu Sharma, Rasika Duggal, Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi, and Harshita Gaur among the others. While the fans are binge-watching the show, veteran Hindi writer, Surender Mohan Pathak is miffed with the makers for violating the Copyright Act.

In episode 3 of Mirzapur 2, Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s character is seen reading Surender Mohan Pathak’s novel Dhabba while in the voiceover an erotic scene is described. However, the writer says that the voiceover has no relation to the content in the book and has sent a notice to Excel Entertainment asking them to remove the said scene. He is currently waiting for them to respond to his notice and in case they fail to do so, he will be filing a case in Delhi High Court for the same. The writer was unaware of the scene until his fans started writing to him and his daughter showed him the scene.

Speaking further about it he said that the makers have used filthy lines and passed it off as content of his book that was published 10 years ago. In the said scene, the voiceover mentions a character Baldev Raj while the writer said that the book has no such character. Surender Mohan Pathak also said that those unaware of his writing would consider that he has lost his mind in his old age and is resorting to write porn to gain fame and it is a conspiracy to defame him.

Pathak says that he has written over 270 mystery and thriller novels but has never described a sex scene in graphic detail.

Actor Irrfan Khan's unfortunate demise six months ago, was not a loss just for India, but for world cinema. In 2006, Irrfan Khan had given a memorable performance in Mira Nair's film The Namesake. So, when A Suitable Boy directed by Mira Nair dropped on Netflix last week, it was difficult to not look for him through the series.

Irrfan Khan was to be a part of the series, which is a screen adaptation of Vikram Seth's novel of the same name. However, the actor later dropped out owing to his health. Talking to a tabloid, Mira Nair said that she had reached out to him as she wanted him to play the Nawab of Baitar. She said that she had tapered the role so that it does not get too hectic for the actor.

Mira said that it was disappointing to not have Irrfan in her passion project, whom she considered one of her trusted collaborators. The role of Nawab of Baitar was eventually essayed by Aamir Bashir.

Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29 in Mumbai after battling neuroendocrine tumour for nearly two years. The actor is survived by his wife and two kids.

Director Bejoy Nambiar made a smashing debut with SHAITAN [2011]. The way he helmed the film with perfection made it difficult for many to believe that it was his first outing. His later Bollywood films like DAVID [2013] and WAZIR [2016] didn’t meet expectations but all hope was not lost on him. And now he’s returned with TAISH and from the trailer, it looks like a taut action thriller. So does TAISH manage to entertain and enthral viewers? Or does it fail to impress? Rohan Kalra (Jim Sarbh) is a UK resident of Indian origin who works as a GP in a hospital. He is living-in with Arfa Sayeed Khan (Kriti Kharbanda), who is of Pakistani origin. Rohan takes leave from work to be with his family in the countryside and to attend the wedding of his brother Krish (Ankur Rathee) with Mahi (Zoa Morani). Rohan wants Arfa to join him but he's apprehensive how his father (Ikhlaque Khan) would react on knowing that he's dating a Muslim girl. Arfa understands and stays back. Rohan returns home and his mother (Monisha Hassen) tries to set him up with Simmi (Melissa Raju Thomas). Rohan's best friend Sunny Lalwani (Pulkit Samrat) too joins the celebrations, meanwhile. He also convinces Arfa to come for the wedding and even tells the truth about their relationship to Rohan's parents. All is going fine until one day the whole gang goes to a pub to celebrate. Here, Rohan sees Kuljinder Brar aka Kulli (Abhimanyu Singh). He goes berserk and has to be taken home. Sunny is puzzled at the turn of events. To which Rohan reveals that Kulli had sodomized Rohan when he was 10 years old. Sunny is enraged. He goes back to the pub where Kulli is still present. He assaults him in the washroom. Kulli's life is saved but he loses his voice and ability to walk. Kulli's brother is the notorious gangster Pali Brar (Harshvardhan Rane). Pali is cross with Kulli as the latter has married the love of his life Jahaan (Sanjeeda Shaikh). But when he learns about Kulli's condition, he goes out all to find out who did it. When he realizes it is Sunny, Pali decides to take revenge. On the day of the wedding, he kills Krish. What happens next forms the rest of the film. Bejoy Nambiar's story is decent. On paper, it must have sounded like a great thriller. But Anjali Nair, Kartik R Iyer, Bejoy Nambiar and Nicola Louise Taylor's screenplay don’t do justice entirely. A few scenes are very well written and thought of but then there are also scenes which are pretty average and just add to the script’s length. Gunjit Chopra and Bejoy Nambiar's dialogues are nothing great but a few of the one-liners in the first half are quite funny. However, the use of Punjabi for the scenes of Pali and the surrounding characters might compel audiences to activate subtitles. Bejoy Nambiar's direction could have been better. There’s no doubt that technically he’s quite superior and he uses his knowledge and expertise to enhance the impact in several scenes. The use of the red light especially is brilliant and makes for a visual treat. Some scenes also turn out to be exceptional. However, he fails to cover up the loopholes in the script. The way Pali and his family operate, that too in the UK, is very unconvincing. They have no fear of law and moreover, even when Pali is imprisoned, he has access to a cell phone with even the prison officials being on his payroll! In fact, the film would have been more realistic if it was set in Uttar Pradesh instead of the United Kingdom! Secondly, the first half is still fine but the film goes haywire in the second hour. Why did Rohan break off with Arfa? Couldn’t he have stayed with Arfa and grieved together? The other problem is with the love story of Pali and Jahaan. This track deserved a backstory without which it looked superficial. TAISH has a thrilling beginning which sets the mood and the conflict between Pali and Kulli. The focus then also shifts to the Kalra family and how they are gearing up for Krish and Mahi’s wedding. A few scenes stand out here like Rohan trying to dodge the marriage topic from his mother and Rohan admitting that he wants to marry Arfa. The scene where Rohan confesses to his parents about Arfa (the mirror shot here is very wittily done) and the scenes where he chides his father for being rude to Arfa are two of the best scenes of the first hour. The film goes on another level when Sunny grievously injures Kulli. The tragic sequence of the demise of Krish also adds to the impact. But from hereon, the film falls. The manner in which the narrative moves two years ahead and the way Rohan turns very aloof are quite difficult to digest. Even the scenes of the problems arising in the Brar gang pop up out of the blue. A few scenes again arrest attention like Sunny attempting to finish off Pali in the prison and the pre-climax scene in the nightclub. But these scenes are few and far between. The finale lacks the punch. Also, at 2.22 hours, the film is too lengthy. <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>ENTERTAINING- Pulkit, Kriti, Jim, Sanjeeda &amp; Bejoy’s HILARIOUS Rapid Fire on Ranbir, Ranveer, Taish</strong></span> <iframe id="jwiframe" class="playerFrame" src="https://ift.tt/31T4C1z" width="800" height="340" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe> TAISH, however, is embellished with some fine performances by actors who try their best to rise above the script. Jim Sarbh arguably has the most screen time and does a great job. He has often played twisted characters and here he gets to play a sensible chap for a change. And he manages to do justice. Harshvardhan Rane looks dashing and gives a first-rate performance. He oozes fear and that proves advantageous for his character. Pulkit Samrat is the surprise of the film. Here, he plays an impulsive, stubborn man and gets totally into the skin of his character. He is especially great in the washroom action scene. Kriti Kharbanda looks stunning and gives an impressive performance. Sanjeeda Shaikh is strictly okay and her character is not well fleshed out. Zoa Morani has a fine screen presence. Ankur Rathee is decent. Abhimanyu Singh is dependable as always. Melissa Raju Thomas leaves a huge mark. Saurabh Sachdeva (Sukhi) gives a performance to watch out for. Viraf Patel (Shozi) is fine but how his character is known to Kalra’s is not established. The other actors who are decent are Ikhlaque Khan, Monisha Hassen, Armaan Khera (Jassi Brar), Saloni Batra (Sanobar Brar), Kunickaa Sadanand (Beeji), Mahavir Bhullar (Gyaan ji), Ekansh Kumar Sharma (Sattu) and Shivanshu Pandey (Ismail). Music is a disappointment. <em>'Shehnai Bajne Do'</em>, <em>'Jaago'</em> and <em>'Saavan Mod Muhara'</em> get registered a bit. The rest of the songs like <em>'Kol Kol'</em>, <em>'Roshni Si'</em>, <em>'Re Bawree'</em>, <em>'All I See Is The Light'</em> and <em>'Mila Na Tu'</em> are forgettable. Gaurav Godkhindi and Govind Vasantha's background score is a bit better. Harshvir Oberai's cinematography is appropriate. The shaky camerawork is interesting. Ian Van Temperley's action works as it’s not too gory. Gopika Gulwadi's costumes are appealing especially in the marriage sequence. Mandar D Nagaonkar's production design is rich. Priyank Prem Kumar's editing could have been crisper. The film should have been shorter by 15-20 minutes. On the whole, TAISH rests on an interesting storyline and is embellished with some fine performances. But the long length and a weak second half dilutes the impact to a great extent.

Musician Palaash Muchhal launches a new talent, Rhiti, with his upcoming track titled 'Chale Aao' featuring Nandish Singh Sandhu and Charlie Chauhan. Born in Banaras in Uttar Pradesh, the young vocalist Rhiti has been brought up in Mumbai. Having been trained in Indian Classical Music, she aspired to become a singer right since her childhood.

Rhiti states, "I was trained under the guidance of Guru Shrimati Mona Sinha Verma. I remember when I was of three or four years of age, my mother would make me do riyaaz on the harmonium along with her. It was the very core of my upbringing and I have never known anything else."

19-year-old Rhiti’s musical prowess was discovered by Palaash on Instagram. Talking about it, she shares, "Palaash sir found me on Instagram and liked my voice. It was the best day when he offered the song. I am absolutely grateful to him for everything. The experience was way too insane but in a good way. It felt like my life fell into place. Music is the only passion I’ve ever had, reason I’ve ever known and is the only force that drives me forward."

Excited about launching a new talent, Palaash says, "When I came across Rhiti and her work on Instagram, I was completely blown away. She has a unique voice and a lot to offer to any song she croons. I am glad and fortunate that I found her. She is talented, dedicated and hard-working and she has a long way to go!"

'Chale Aao' is based on a heart-wrenching love story and revolves around a young girl reminiscing about her lost love. The track is themed on, ‘Sometimes all you need is a second chance’ in love. The romantic number features actors, Nandish Singh Sandhu and Charlie Chauhan. The romantic number is composed by Palaash, who has also conceptualised and directed the music video. The Hindi-English lyrics of the track are penned by Palaash and Anmol Malik. 'Chale Aao' was unveiled on Dussehra on October 25.

Recalling his days of struggle Nawazuddin Siddiqui says, “There were many incidents when I did small roles and then the role was edited out. But the one incident that stays with me involves one of my idols Kamal Haasan. I was his Hindi dialogue coach on his film Hey Ram (2000) which he directed and also played the lead. When Kamalji offered me a small role in Hey Ram I was as excited as a child. He is one of my idols alongside Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah, Anthony Hopkins and Denzel Washington. I’ve seen each and every film of theirs repeatedly.”

The supposedly small role that Kamalji offered Nawaz turned out to be not so small. “It was actually a substantial role. I was supposed to be this victim of a mob attack whom Kamalji rescues. I was excited about this opportunity to share screen space with my idol.”

When the role was deleted Nawaz was heartbroken. “I wept bitterly. I remember Kamalji’s daughter Shruti consoling me. Though Kamalji cut my role there was no ill will whatsoever in my heart. How could I be resentful? Kamalji is such a complete artiste with his knowledge stretching far beyond. Unka toh mujhe naam bhil lene mein hichkichaahat hoti hai (I hesitate to even say his name).”

Nawaz was back with Kamal Haasan in the latter’s Abhay (Aalavandhan in Tamil). “This time I was only his Hindi voice coach. No role was offered to me. I wait for the day when Kamalji offers me another role.”

After much anticipation, the trailer of Laxmmi Bomb was dropped online and managed to impress the audiences with its funny and scary scenes. Akshay Kumar’s transgender character has created quite a buzz.

Today, the film directed by Raghava Lawrence went for its censor certificate, and post the screening the makers had a discussion with CBFC. Keeping in mind and respecting the sentiments of its viewers, the producers of the film - Shabinaa Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar have now decided to change the title of their film. The horror-comedy starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani is now titled as Laxmii.

As per reports, the notice was sent by advocate Raghavendra Mehrotra on behalf of the Karni Sena. According to the notice, Laxmmi Bomb was being considered "derogatory and offensive" to Goddess Laxmi worshipped by the Hindu community. The notice also claimed that the makers deliberately used the title Laxmmi Bomb to lower the dignity of and show disrespect towards the Goddess. It also claimed that the name sends out a wrong message to the society at large towards the "ideology, customs, gods and goddesses of Hindu religion".

Laxmii is set to premiere on 9th Nov on Disney+ Hotstar VIP. Disney+ Hotstar presents, Laxmiii, produced by Cape of Good Films, Tusshar Entertainment House and Shabinaa Entertainment.

Nia Sharma is quite a name in the industry when it comes to following the latest trends and setting the bar high when it comes to fashion. Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel recently campaigned for an Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate in Bihar for the ongoing elections. In a recent interview with TV news channel the actress opened up on her experience of campaigning and said that she felt unsafe the whole time.

Ameesha was on a campaign trail in Bihar's Daudnagar for LJP candidate Prakash Chandra. The actress said that it was like a nightmare and she felt that she could have been ‘raped and killed’. She also said that she had to play along to save her life and to get out from there.

Ameesha also accused the candidate of threatening, blackmailing and misbehaving with her. She said that she was so scared that she had no option but to play along till she reached back home in Mumbai. The actress claimed that she continued to receive threatening calls and messages from him asking to speak highly of him, after she was honest about her terrible experience.

Patel said that Chandra also made her miss her evening flight and made her stay in the village and threatened to leave her there if she did not play along.

Malvi Malhotra, who has done a few regional films and was seen in the show Udaan, was stabbed by a man whose marriage proposal she refused. The actress was returning home from a café in Versova and the incident took place under her residential building. The man had been trying to get her to marry him for some time now but she was unhinged by her decision.

However, on Monday night he arrived in his Audi and cornered her, when she refused again he stabbed her in the stomach and attacked her right wrist and left arm. The actress was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital where she is in stable condition and will undergo plastic surgery for her scars. The accused has been traced by the police around 50 kilometres away from Mumbai where he is hospitalized for something.

Malvi filed an FIR against the man in Versova police station but they couldn’t arrest him because he is admitted in the hospital for reasons unknown. He has been charged under IPC Section 307, attempt to murder.

Bollywood Hungama has been among the firsts to inform that Shah Rukh Khan is teaming up with War director Sidharth Anand on an out and out action film, Pathan, which will be a part of YRF’s prestigious 50 years slate. We also revealed that the superstar will be accompanied by John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in the film and will return to the set after 870 days as the shooting begins in November.

Bollywood Hungama has now discovered that the much awaited action packed entertainer has a tentative release date in place. “Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra go down a long way and most of the SRK – YRF films have arrived during the Diwali weekend. Pathan will be no different. They are planning the schedule as well as post production in a manner that the film releases on Diwali next year,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The filming begins in November in Mumbai wherein the makers would shoot for solo portions of SRK. The other two leads of the film, Deepika and John will join the cast from early next year for a marathon schedule at overseas locations. “It’s going to be one of the biggest action films of Bollywood and what better than Diwali for this Dhamaka,” the source shared.

With Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan will make an appearance on the screen almost 3 years after his last release, Zero directed by Aanand L Rai.

Akshay Kumar's first movie of 2020, Laxmmi Bomb, set to release for Diwali has landed in some trouble. Reportedly, the makers have received a legal notice from the Shri Rajput Karni Sena demanding a change in the title of the film.

Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer Laxmmi Bomb is scheduled to release on November 9 on Disney+Hotstar. As per reports, the notice was sent by advocate Raghavendra Mehrotra on behalf of the Karni Sena. According to the notice, Laxmmi Bomb was being considered "derogatory and offensive" to Goddess Laxmi worshipped by the Hindu community. The notice also claimed that the makers deliberately used the title Laxmmi Bomb to lower the dignity of and show disrespect towards the Goddess. It also claimed that the name sends out a wrong message to the society at large towards the "ideology, customs, gods and goddesses of Hindu religion".

Director Raghava Lawrence also directed the original Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana and also featured in it. The film which is a remake of a Tamil film revolves around a man who gets possessed by the ghost of a transgender.

Zee TV’s popular fiction drama, Qurbaan Hua, has been entertaining audiences with interesting twists and turns in the life of Neel and Chahat, who have tied the nuptial knot with vested interests arising out of fierce loyalty to their respective families. While Neel wants to get to Chahat's father - Dr. Baig, the gynaecologist he holds responsible for his pregnant sister's death, Chahat is convinced she can get to the bottom of the case and clear her father's name by being a part of Neel's family.

In the upcoming episodes of the show, viewers are in for a shocking twist. While Chahat will be seen keeping the Karwa Chauth fast for Neel, Neel will meet with an accident in a factory wherein a splash of Lava will burn his face and parts of his body. Everybody will assume that they have lost Neel forever, but audiences will discover that Neel is rescued in the nick of time and having undergone multiple cosmetic surgeries, will emerge as a man of altered appearance. Consequently, actor Rajveer Singh will step into the shoes of Karan Jotwani as Neel.

The movie is slated to go on floors early next year and will release in the same year.

Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP and Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films joined forces to bring a tale of India's valour onto the big screen with their production Pippa. Based on the book The Burning Chaffees by war veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, this collaboration has Airlift director Raja Krishna Menon at its helm and will be headlined by Ishaan Khatter. The makers of the heroic tank battle film now finalize the rest of the lead cast that shall join Khatter.

The war drama will have Mrunal Thakur (of Super 30 fame) and Priyanshu Painyuli (best known for Extraction and Mirzapur Season 2) in the roles of Khatter's reel siblings and Soni Razdan as their mother. Pippa is set to have Ishaan in the role of Brigadier Mehta, a veteran of the 45th Cavalry Tank Squadron who fought on the eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. Producer Ronnie Screwvala says, “Pippa is a story that chronicles an Indian victory in 1971 through the eyes of the Mehta family and signing on fine actors to essay the members of this brave family was our foremost priority. In this heroic tank battle film, Ishaan is set to take on the role of war veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron who, along with his siblings, fought on the eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. It was with this battle, which took place in Garibpur, that India for the first time infiltrated and entered enemy land, thus leading to the liberation of our neighbour Bangladesh.

The film titled Pippa is written by Ravinder Randhawa, Tanmay Mohan, and Raja Krishna Menon. It is based on the book The Burning Chaffees, written by the Brigadier himself. The film's unique title highlights the magnificent Russian amphibious war tank called the PT-76, popularly and lovingly known as “Pippa”, an empty ghee da dabba that smoothly floats on water.

In their Pippa, Balram and his tank squadron fought the riveting 48-hour-long Battle of Garibpur that laid the foundation for and influenced the outcome of the impending war in India’s favour. The film also portrays the coming-of-age of a young Mehta as well as of our nation, as both stepped up to prove themselves in a war for the liberation of another country. The battle paved the path for India’s triumph as Captain Mehta rose to the occasion and led his troops to victory.

In addition to the war-front bravado, thrilling military camaraderie, and majestic action sequences that will surely wow audiences, this story also explores the poignancy of a family displaced during wartime amidst the backdrop of the heart-wrenching refugee crisis that plagues our world even today. The key roles of Mehta’s elder brother and younger sister, who also bravely conducted themselves during the war, are in the process of being cast.

Pippa, produced by RSVP and Roy Kapur Films, will hit theatres late next year.

Filmmaker Shakun Batra is currently shooting his film in Goa that stars Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ananya Panday. The film, bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, has come under fire for garbage littering on the set. As per reports, the Entertainment Society of Goa has issued a showcause notice to the production house. Now, Goa line producer Dilip Borkar is defending the production house and said that it was only one day that the garbage was not picked up but got it removed immediately.

Dilip took to his Twitter page to issue the statement that read, "There is a dearth of waste disposal management companies in North Goa where the shoot was being held. Due to the non-availability of private vendors. I hired and paid the panchayat garbage vendors to segregate and collect the garbage generated at the shoot location."

"Unfortunately on one particular Monday, the garbage pick-up truck was unable to reach the dumping site due to a breakdown. Upon receiving this information my team immediately hired another special truck and had the garbage cleared,” he said.

"I repeat and reiterate that we have taken all the necessary steps to dispose off the garbage in the manner suggested by the government and we continue to adhere to the guidelines provided,” he concluded.
