Bollywood Hungama was first to reveal around two weeks back that Akshay Kumar had been approached to play the Hindu king, Suheldev in Ashwin Varde’s upcoming production. The film, an epic, was said to be an adaptation of Amish’s novel, Legend of Suheldev. We have now learnt that Akshay Kumar has refused to come on board.

“Ashwin flew down to Delhi in the first week of December to meet Akshay Kumar and had a detailed talk about his plans to make this film on a humongous scale. However, eventually, the actor felt that the script needed a lot of rework. After having discussions with Ashwin, he decided to take a backseat from the film as he was not on the same page with the stakeholders creatively. Apart from that, even dates were an issue as Akshay is blocked for the next 2 years and Ashwin and co were looking to start the film sometime next year, demanding over 70 days from Akshay. It was almost impossible for Akshay to accommodate the film in his jam-packed schedule,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Interestingly, the novel was first offered to Ajay Devgn for an adaptation and after a series of conversations, he even took a backseat due to some unheard reasons. Back then, Ashwin was not even involved in the project and it was supposed to be a part of Ajay’s Unsung Warrior franchise, the second film after Tanhaji. Ashwin and co are now on the lookout for a new actor and they are confident to rope in a big name soon, considering that the novel is loved by the masses of India and stands the potential to set new records at the box-office. “It’s a young character in the novel, and it was reworked keeping the age of senior actors in mind. However, now they will go back to the basics and set the original character sketch again to approach one of the gen-next superstars,” the source further told us.

Akshay Kumar meanwhile has half a dozen films lined up for release in the next two years.

It was recently revealed that Aamir Khan is no longer a part of Vikram Vedha remake and soon after, it was confirmed that Saif Ali Khan will however continue to be a part of the film. It has now come to our notice that Bollywood superstar, Hrithik Roshan has come on board the adaptation of this Tamil classic crime thriller.

“Hrithik Roshan has been in talks for the film for a couple of months and he has finally agreed on doing the film. In-fact, Hrithik was in talks for the film even before they reached out to Aamir, however, things didn’t materialise back then. But as they say, its life coming full circle now, and the film is back in Hrithik’s kitty,” a source told Bollywood Hungama, adding further that this will be the silver jubilee film of Hrithik’s career.

Before moving on to Vikram Vedha, Hrithik Roshan will complete shooting for his digital debut, Night Manager for Disney+ Hotstar. “He is all excited to play two diametrically different characters – one stylish and other a raw rustic gangster in 2021. This has always been his style of working by jumping from one extreme to the other,” the source added.

Apart from the two projects, Hrithik Roshan also has his superhero franchise, Krrish 4, and Sidharth Anand’s Fighters and War 2 under his kitty. The film will be directed by Pushkar – Gayatri, who helmed the original film too.

Actor Kartik Aaryan has achieved a never seen before feat by wrapping his upcoming film Dhamaka in 10 days setting a new precedent! It was only recently that Kartik announced commencing the shoot of his first thriller Dhamaka with a picture of his worried mom given the current pandemic.

Dhamaka went on floors on December 14th at Renaissance in Powai, the thriller witnesses Kartik Aaryan as a journalist for the first time showcasing an intense avatar of the actor. Ensuring the necessary actions, the entire unit of the film was tested for COVID-19 and were  quarantined in the hotel before commencing the shoot.

A source close to the film shared, “Since the unit comprised 300 people, the entire hotel was booked by the production team. Madhvani and Ronnie Screwvala, Amita adhered to the necessary safety protocols, and ensured that no outsiders were allowed into the hotel. In fact, the hotel staff was also instructed to stay put during the period, thus creating a bio-bubble of sorts".

As the film revolves around a terror attack, most scenes of Dhamaka are set indoors. Only a few action sequences were set in outdoors, and were shot in locations close to the hotel.

The director Ram Madhvani had designed a detailed storyboard and ensured the team was prepped to avoid prolonged shoot schedules.

Adding to the details, the source revealed, “Ram Madhvani had planned each scene down to the last detail, including where each actor would stand and what the camera angle would be. It saved the unit a lot of time, enabling them to shoot more than five scenes every day. While the shoot went overtime on a few occasions, they would usually call it a day after eight hours of filming."

While Kartik had allotted 14 days to the film, the actor tried to wrap the shoot even earlier and was happy to manage the same in just 10 days.

Arjun Rampal was recently questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) for the second time in connection with a raid at his residence where they found banned tablets. The raid was conducted in November, post which he was interrogated. The actor had also submitted a prescription for the banned tablets.

Reportedly, the drug agency found Arjun Rampal's brother-in-law Agisilaos Demetriades talking to someone by the name Arjun on WhatsApp and assumed it's the actor. During his investigation, Rampal told the agency that one of the tablets is for his dog, prescribed by a vet and the second is used as an SOS for anxiety by his sister, as prescribed by a Delhi-based psychiatrist.

As per reports, Rampal also said that the person 'Arjun' found in Demetriades' Whatsapp chats is not him. Reportedly the NCB conducted a raid after they found the WhatsApp chats.

The NCB had seized two different tablets from Arjun's residence- one was Ultracet (a prescription medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain, containing tramadol and acetaminophen). The second tablet was Clonazepam which is used to treat seizure disorders and panic attacks. Both the tablets are banned under the NDPS Act, unless there is a valid prescription.

Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas who was shooting for her upcoming Hollywood film Text For You in London is reportedly stranded in the country. The UK Government has imposed a strict lockdown in the country after a new, potentially more infectious strain of COVID-19 was detected in the UK.

After the new strain of virus was detected, which is said to have a high rate of transmissibility, the government put many parts of the country under Tier 4 lockdown. The team of Text For You was supposed to shoot the film till January, but reports state that the production team is trying to arrange for everyone to return to the US at the earliest.

Reportedly, the shoot has been halted and special permissions are being sought to travel back to the US. However, due to strict lockdown rules the procedure may take a while to come through. Reports state that Priyanka Chopra and the team will have to stay in the country for a while.

Text For You is a remake of the German film SMS Fur Dich and stars Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan in the lead. Earlier this month, Nick Jonas shot for a cameo in the film. Celine Dion, Russell Tovey and Omid Djalili will also star in the film.

Actress Kajol was supposed to make her digital debut with Netflix’s Tribhanga, this year. In July, the streaming giant announced a plethora of line-up that included her project as well. But, it seems like the project has been pushed to January 2021.

According to a daily, Renuka Shahane revealed that the post-production was already completed and submitted to Netflix. They are yet to finalize a date. Since the majority of Netflix’s line-up has premiered released this year, Tribhanga is the only project that will have a 2021 release, though the streaming giant is yet to confirm.

Tribhanga is a dysfunctional family drama that stars Kajol in the lead role. Mithila Palkar, Tanvi Azmi, and Kunaal Roy Kapoor will be seen in pivotal roles in the film. The film is directed and written by veteran actress Renuka Shahane. Ajay Devgn Films is the producer along with Bannijay Asia and Alchemy Productions.

A drama set in Mumbai, Tribhanga weaves a complex tale that goes back and forth through three generations of the same family, from the late 1980s to the modern-day. The heart-warming storyline looks at the importance of family in everyday lives.

While this yet-to-be-titled film is being said to be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani, the movie will go on floors mid-next year. Prior to that, Ranbir will be wrapping up Luv Ranjan’s rom-com.

There were multiple reports about Ranbir Kapoor being a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next, Baiju Bawra, however, the Brahmastra actor has denied the reports of the same and said that he will not be a part of this project.

In the last few months, there have been enough speculations about TV star Parth Samthaan's big Bollywood debut. This happened after the Kausautii Zindagi Kay actor revealed that he had signed a Hindi film in an interview. Many reports claimed that Parth will be romancing Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. But we can now tell you that the story is half true.

A source tells us, "Parth is definitely doing a film with Alia but it is not Gangubai Kathiawadi. Shantanu Maheshwari stars in the SLB directorial. But, Parth has signed Resul Pookutty's Piharwa that also stars Alia. The film is based on the life story of martyr Harbhajan Singh and has the India-China war as its backdrop. The movie will have a romantic angle around Alia and Parth's characters and will be set in two Eras."

The shoot of the film was supposed to begin around December but the Covid-19 outbreak stalled all such plans. "Alia will first finish work in Gangubai Kathiawadi, Brahmastra and RRR. She also has to begin Karan Johar's next directorial opposite Ranveer Singh early next year. The movie needs a huge crew because it captures the war too. Resul is currently in touch with Alia and her team to lock the dates but Piharwa will definitely go on floors next year. Meanwhile, Parth will complete his web series and is also in talks to sign another digital show which might get complete before his Bollywood debut hits theatres."

Sony Music India and Epic Games have announced a new partnership, featuring music from renowned Indian rapper and music composer, Raftaar, in Fortnite’s latest campaign the Bhangra Boogie Cup - an in-game competition targeting the mobile gaming community in India, which begins on December 20.

Raftaar's new original music track titled 'Click Pow Get Down', due for release on December 29, will also be available to unlock as an award for Bhangra Boogie Cup winners in the game. Gamers can also purchase the song in the Fortnite in-game item shop from December 30. Bhangra Boogie Cup is the first collaboration between an Indian artist and Fortnite.

"Our partnership with Epic Games offers new opportunities for our artists to reach fans by fusing two great sources of entertainment together,” said Rajat Kakar, Managing Director, Sony Music India. “Raftaar's 'Click Pow Get Down' is a song packed with energy and positivity, and we’re excited to see the response from gamers."

Raftaar signed an exclusive recording agreement with Sony Music India in July earlier this year, alongside a new partnership with his independent label Kalamkaar, which is home to young hip-hop, rap, pop, and EDM talent from the country. A renowned rapper, producer, television personality, and music entrepreneur, Raftaar is credited for creating a benchmark for Indian rap and hip-hop.

"I can't wait to present the track to Indian gamers and partnering with Epic Games is a great way to wind 2020 up,” added Raftaar. “I hope to make an impact with the song that has been created keeping the spirit of Fortnite in mind!"

Bhangra Boogie Cup is the first collaboration between an Indian artist and Fortnite and is the latest in a series of partnerships between Sony Music and Epic Games.

It was reported a day ago that well known personalities were arrested by the Mumbai Police while they were partying at a club in the city and breaking the COVID-19 protocols. Amongst the name that had cropped were singer Guru Randhawa, cricketer Suresh Raina and Susanne Khan. But, Sussanne clarified that she was not arrested.

Sussanne Khan was at Dragon Fly club at JW Marriott, Sahar when the raid happened. In an official statement, she said, "A humble clarification. I was at a close friend's birthday dinner and a few of us extended to the Dragon Fly Club at JW Marriot, Sahar. At 2:30 am, the authorities entered the club. Whilst the club management and the authorities were sorting things out, all the guests present were asked to wait for a period of three hours. We were finally allowed to leave at 6 am. Therefore, the speculation by parts of the media that there were arrests made are completely incorrect and also irresponsible."

She added, "I fail to understand why we were made to wait or what the issue was with the authorities and the club. I am setting the record straight with this statement. I have utmost regard and respect for the Mumbai Police and for all their selfless efforts in keeping us Mumbaikars safe. Without their constant vigilance for public welfare, we would not feel safe. Actor Shahid Kapoor was all set to begin work on Shashank Khaitan's Yoddha after completing the Jersey remake. When the actor was in talks with Karan Johar's banner over the last few months, the team had decided to kickstart their actioner around January. The film will have Disha Patani romancing Shahid.

But now, we hear the whole scenario has changed. Shahid has apparently walked out of the film. A source suggests, "Shahid and the team were having a lot of creative differences over the script. Many feel that Shahid has become extremely brash and arrogant after the success of Kabir Singh. He is currently very picky about what he wants to do. Plus, he had been dilly dallying on his dates for a while. He had not signed on the dotted line, which is also why KJo could not make the official announcement about the same. But now, it's almost certain that he's no longer doing the film anymore. Now, it needs to be seen if Karan and Shashank get back to convincing him and adhere to his demands or they look for a new actor to star in the film."

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor has switched his dates for Yoddha with his debut digital series, to be helmed by Raj and DK. According to the reports, Shahid and Vijay Setupathi will start the shoot of the yet to be titled series in Mumbai and Goa. The episodic web show will be shot over the next few months and has been planned as a trilogy, much like the filmmakers' last project The Family Man.

As for Yoddha, it won't be much of a problem since the film was never announced officially in the first place.

The film industry has resumed work amid the coronavirus pandemic. As new announcements are being made, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has announced his next.

Titled India Lockdown, the film will be based on true events. This will be Bhandarkar's first directorial in a while.  While the casting is underway, the makers plan to take the film on the floor by January 2021. India Lockdown is produced by MadhurBhandarkar'sBhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures.

Madhur Bhandarkar last helmed Indu Sarkar in 2017. The film starred Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Tota Roy Chowdhury, NitanshiGoel, and Supriya Vinod.

Mansi Srivastava, who was last seen in Vidya as Mehek, is all set to return to the television with an entirely new avatar. The actress has never played the role of an antagonist before and is determined to change that by making an entry on Helly Shah, Vishal Vashishtha, and Rrahul Sudhir starrer show, Ishq Mein Marjawan 2.

Confirming her entry on the show, Mansi even gave a small brief about what her character on the show will be like. While she admitted to the fact that it is challenging to enter a show mid-way, she said that she has met Helly Shah during the mock shoot and is excited for her camaraderie with her. Her character on the show, Ahana, will be manipulative and calculative. Needless to say, her part will primarily revolve around creating havoc in Helly Shah and Rrahul Sudhir’s characters’ lives.

After backing films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Ronnie Screwvala will now collaborate with producers Amar Butala and Garima Mehta to produce Mission Majnu, a film on India's most ambitious covert operation. The film is inspired by real events set in the 1970s and is the story of India's most courageous mission in the heart of Pakistan that forever changed the relationship between the two nations.

Taking to their social media, RSVP Movies posted, “The deadliest covert operation undertaken by our intelligence agency behind enemy lines! Presenting the first look of #MissionMajnu."

In fact, in 2015, producer Firoz Nadiadwala had begun shooting for Hera Pheri 3 but without its two lead actors, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Instead, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan had stepped in along with Neha Sharma while the third lead, Paresh Rawal, was retained for part 3 as well. Due to financial problems, it got shelved during the shooting stage itself.

Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that an attempt was made some time back to revive the franchise. According to a source, “Producer Firoz Nadiadwala spoke to Akshay Kumar for Hera Pheri 3. Akshay decided to come on board but he had two conditions. One, he wanted Dream Girl (2019) director Raaj Shaandilyaa to direct the film. He felt that Raaj knew how to handle a masala comic caper, and that this was evident with his first film. Secondly, Akshay asked for 70% profit sharing.”

The source adds, “Firoz Nadiadwala, however, refused, due to the second condition. Raaj Shaandilyaa also humbly refused as he knew that Hera Pheri was an iconic franchise and he thought he would not be able to do justice to it.”

Even 2 years back, the project was revived and at that point, veteran filmmaker Indra Kumar was supposed to helm the sequel. But it didn’t materialize. We attempted to reach out to Indra Kumar and his partner Ashok Thakeria but they were unavailable for comment.

When contacted, Raaj Shaandilyaa admitted that he was offered the film. He says, “Yes I was approached for Hera Pheri 3. But the dates were clashing with my next directorial venture and there were few other reasons. Hence, I couldn’t do it.” He also adds, “I had worked with Firoz sir earlier in Welcome Back as a dialogue writer and hence I know him well.”

A trade source meanwhile states, “Hera Pheri 3 is probably the most awaited sequel and the popularity of the series and its fan following is more than any other film franchises. If Hera Pheri 3 is indeed made with the original cast and released on say Diwali or Eid, it can easily fetch an opening of Rs. 40 crore plus, or even Rs. 50 crore plus! But it needs an able director. Raaj would have been a good choice. We hope it gets made some day.”

Hera Pheri, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal was directed by Priyadarshan and was a story of a landlord and his two paying guests who get a chance to get rich when the granddaughter of a famous businessman gets kidnapped and the kidnapper mistakenly calls them for ransom. The sequel was directed by Neeraj Vora, also one of the writers of the original. In this film, the trio have become rich but their greed of having more money brings them back on the streets, leading to madness.

Hera Pheri 3 was also initially supposed to be directed by Neeraj Vora. He however suffered a stroke in 2016 and passed away on December 14, 2017. For almost a year, it was Firoz Nadiadwala who took care of him and converted a room in his Juhu bungalow into a fully-functional ICU.

Actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will reunite for Tiger 3 after 2019's Bharat. While they are busy wrapping up their commitments, the reports suggest that the lead actors will kick off the shooting of the action film in March 2021.

Katrina Kaif recently began shooting for Phone Bhoot starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is busy with the shooting of Antim - The Final Truth. As soon as both of them wrap up their projects, the makers plan to kick off Tiger 3 in March in Mumbai before the schedule will be shifted to the Middle East. Since this will be made on bigger scale compared to the last two films, the modalities are currently being worked out for foreign shoots keeping the COVID-19 cases in mind.

As of now, the makers are yet to finalise the antagonist for the film since they want relatively new face. 

Tiger 3, produced by Yash Raj Films, will be directed by Maneesh Sharma.

The exhibition sector, most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, was finally hoping for a great end to this otherwise awful year thanks to the release of Wonder Woman 1984, starring Gal Gadot. Sadly, theatre owners in Maharashtra got a rude shock yesterday as the state government imposed a night curfew, from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am from Tuesday December 22 till January 6. This meant that the late evening and night shows cannot take place. After all, Wonder Woman 1984 is a lengthy film, at 2.30 hours. Even the intervals are nowadays longer since snacks are not allowed inside the screen. Hence, cinema owners give extra time to patrons who wish to consume food or drinks in the interval. A single show of Wonder Woman 1984 would hence take up around 3 to 3.30 hours of time, also taking into consideration cleaning and sanitization of the audi after each show. As a result, the last show of the film is taking place at 7:30 pm. Very select properties have kept the final show at 8:00 pm.

A staffer at a multiplex in Mumbai, on condition of anonymity says, “The paid previews of Wonder Woman 1984 are taking place tomorrow (Wednesday, December 23) evening, from 5:00 pm onwards. The occupancy in the night shows was quite good. Now, we are cancelling bookings of all these shows. Thankfully, we have the contact details of all those who booked. We are informing them about the cancellation and also suggesting them to book an earlier show. It’s a very time-consuming activity.”

Across the state, the exhibitors are angry with this decision. Akshaye Rathi, film exhibitor and distributor, tells, “The decision to impose curfew would drastically affect the business.” He explains why he feels so, “Wonder Woman 1984 is a kind of film that would be majorly seen by the educated, salaried class. They are the ones who get free from work after 6:30 or 7:00 pm and then they would have headed to cinemas to watch the film. But ab toh hum 7 ya 7:30 baje ke baad show rakh hi nahi paayenge.”

Fortunately, the night curfew rule is only imposed in Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh as of now. In the rest of the states, Wonder Woman 1984 can have shows from morning to night. However, Akshaye Rathi reasons, “But Mumbai and Pune make huge contributions to a movie like this.”

An industry insider says, “Wonder Woman 1984 is simultaneously releasing on HBO Max. Hence, already, there are fears that its pirated print would be out. And now, this rule will affect the business to an extent.”

But a trade expert assures, “Yes, the earnings would be affected but not much. There’s a lot of hype for the film and it looks like a complete family entertainer. In the absence of night shows, viewers would throng to watch during the rest of the day. Also, its holiday time and work is anyway slow in most offices during this time of the year. So, working professionals can finish their work early and go for the film.” He also suggests, “If the response is good, the theatres should also keep shows early in the morning, at 7:00 or 8:00 am, to make up for the absence of night shows. In the past, we have seen that footfalls can be encouraging for such shows, especially if the film is exciting enough.”

Yesterday, the actor-philanthropist was honoured for his performance in PM Narendra Modi. Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari ji, invited Vivek Anand Oberoi at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai and conferred him with Sarvottam Samman for the film. The biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which released in May 2019, saw him playing the titular character.

Excited about the big win, Vivek Anand Oberoi says, “I am humbled by this huge honour. This award is very special because I won it for a film that will always remain very close to my heart. It was an absolute honour playing Modi ji, an icon whose journey is nothing short of inspirational. What makes me happier is to receive this award from Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari ji, the Governor of Maharashtra. Awards are a recognition of your work and this will motivate me to keep working hard.”

On the work front, Vivek Anand Oberoi will next be seen in a horror-thriller titled Rosie: The Saffron Chapter which he will also be producing. He will also be seen in Iti: Can You Solve Your Own Murder, a whodunnit thriller, where he will be playing the lead along with producing the film.

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha is all set to unite with director Sudhir Mishra for his next project. Anubhav Sinha is sitting high on the success of films like Article 15, Thappad and Mulk while Mishra delivered the Netflix original film Serious Men starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui this year.

According to reports, Sinha and Mishra plan on uniting for a quirky thriller. The film will be directed by Mishra under the banner of Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Media Work. While details of the film are under wraps, reports state that the film will be a quirky, edge-of-the-seat thriller that will make you laugh and bite your nails at the same time. Both the filmmakers share a great bond offscreen.

As for the cast, the makers are on the lookout for the right actors and have even approached some A-list actors and are in talks with them.

Meanwhile, Anubhav Sinha is currently doing a recce for his next project which is said to be a creature film set in a jungle. While the details are not out, a source close to the director says, “Anubhav is holding onto this news very closely to his heart and wants to keep it under wraps until the locations and preparations are done. This will be the first time that he will be helming this big and extravagant creature film set in the jungles.”

Actor Rakul Preet Singh who recently started shooting for her upcoming project MayDay has tested positive for COVID-19. On Tuesday afternoon, she took to her social media handle to inform all about the same.

"I'd like to inform everyone that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I have quarantined myself. I am feeling fine and will rest up well so that I can be back at shoot soon. Request everyone who met me to kindly get yourself tested. Thank you and Please stay safe," she wrote on Instagram and Twitter.

A 48-day shoot schedule has been swiftly and efficiently managed by the production team, taking utmost safety precautions and following strict protocols for a smooth process.

Retired Indian cricketer Suresh Raina and singer Guru Randhawa were arrested in a raid at the Mumbai club named Dragonfly near the Mumbai airport. The accused were later let go on bail. Bollywood celebrity and Hrithik Roshan's ex - wife Sussanne Khan was also arrested at the raid.

A total of 34 people were arrested including seven staff members for violating COVID-19 norms. The raid was conducted after the club was kept open beyond the permissible hours and for not following the norms set by the government during the ongoing pandemic.

An officer at the Sahar police station reportedly said that 34 people including cricketer Suresh Raina and others were booked under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal was questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for the second time on Monday. He was interrogated for nearly six hours by the agency. He was summoned in relation to the raid conducted at his residence last month where the agency found tablets banned under the NDPS Act.

As per reports, during the investigation, the anti-drug agency found that the actor had arranged for a backdated prescription for the tablets illegally through a relative.

Rampal was first interrogated by NCB on November 13 for nearly seven hours. During the raid at his house, the agency seized several electronic gadgets and medical tablets as well. Rampal had handed over the prescription for the tablets to the investigating officer. Reportedly, the prescription was issued by a Delhi-based psychiatrist named Dr. Rohit Garg.

Reports state that Dr Garg in his statement to the NCB said that he was unaware of the probe. He said that he was approached by a relative of the actor through a common friend. The relative said that she has anxiety and requested for a backdated prescription.

He will be starring in and as Doctor G in their next production. The campus comedy drama will be helmed by debutante director Anubhuti Kashyap.

Ayushmann Khurrana told a daily that he fell in love with the script of Doctor G instantly because it is super fresh. He said that it is an extremely unique and innovative concept that will make the audience laugh and ponder. He is excited to play a doctor first time in his career and also deliver a message in the process which he hopes will speak directly to everyone.

Anubhuti Kashyap has co-written this film along with Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh and Saurabh Bharat.

The gods have been kind. After cruelly striking a blow to choreographer-director Remo D’Souza’s health, they have given him a second chance. I am happy to inform that I had a brief interaction with Remo.

When I texted him for a talk he wrote back, “Maybe tomorrow. Sorry not allowed to talk too much. I am better now.” Coming as it does after Remo’s sudden heart attack, this is a relief to all his well-wishers. Among those inquiring about Remo’s health regularly was Amitabh Bachchan who told this writer he was very concerned about the randomness of ill health.

Happily Remo is well on the way to recovery. There is more reason for him to be cautious with his health, though it must be said he was never careless.

He said that when you are with a person for so long the commitment is given and if one calls her anything of his that is right because she is. The actor said that he is in a committed relationship and that she is the one for him. He said that there has been no engagement ceremony.

Varun also addressed the rumours of his destination wedding in Thailand. He said that there were no marriage plans and there cannot be one as they lost a family member to COVID-19 this year.

The Golden Globe Award will be the first prestigious awards of 2021. Ahead of the awards ceremony which will be held in Los Angeles, the list of foreign films to be screened has been released. Four South films have made it to the list this year.

Soorarai Pottru

Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film stars Suriya and Aparna Balamurali in the lead. The film which was released on Amazon Prime Video in November is based on the life of Captain Gopinath.

Asuran

Directed by Vetrimaaran, Asuran was a critically appreciated film starring Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the lead. The film which was released in 2019 won four National Awards and is based in Poomani's novel Vekkai.

Jallikattu

This Malayalam film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery is also the official entry from India for the Oscars. The film also stars Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Santhy Balachandran.

Tanhaji

Directed by Om Raut, Tanhaji was one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2020. The film starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar and Kajol narrates the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's close aide Tanhaji, the Maratha warrior.

The Disciple

It is a Marathi drama film written, directed and edited by Chaitanya Tamhane. It stars Aditya Modak, Arun Dravid, Sumitra Bhave, Deepika Bhide Bhagwat, and Kiran Yadnyopavit. It was screened at various international film festivals including Venice International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.

Ludo

Directed by Anurag Basu, Ludo is an anthology black comedy crime film. It stars Abhishek Bachcha, Inayat Verma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rohit Saraf, Pearle Manney, and Pankaj Tripathi.

Eeb Allay Ooo

Directed by debutant Prateek Vat, the film released in Indian recently. The film is based on monkey menace in the capital city of Indian.

Harami

Starring Emraan Hashmi in the lead, diretor Shyam Madiraju calls it a modern-day adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel "Oliver Twist". The film is a commentary on the constant power struggle among people in the society.

Just Like that

Originally titled Aise Hi, debutant director Kislay tells the story of an elderly Indian woman who decides to live for herself.

Trees Under the Sun

This is a Malayalam language film directed by Bijukumar Damodaran and starring Indrans, and Prakash Bare. The film is titled VeyilMaranangal in Malayalam.

The year 2020 was tough for everyone but seems like it will be a busy year end for director Vikram Bhatt as he starts shoot for his next series Anamika with none other than Sunny Leone in lead.

Anamika is a Gun Fu action series which will have 10 episodes. Sunny Leone will be seen in an avatar never seen before. The series will be shot in Mumbai. The first schedule will mostly be wrapped mostly by the end of 2020.

Harman's sister Rowena was the first to share a photo of the couple and wrote, "Congratulations you two!! Welcome to the family @sasha_ramchandani! Can’t wait for the celebrations to begin. We love you #rokka #family #celebrationtime #chandigarh #harmanbaweja.”. Actress Sagarika Ghatge aso shared the same photo congratulating the couple.

Harman Baweja made his debut in 2008 with the film Love Story 2050 opposite Priyanka Chopra. The film was directed by his father Harry Baweja, however, the film failed to take off. He appeared in films like Dhishkiyaaon, What's Your Rashee and Vicktory, but none of the films left a lasting impression. The actor was last seen in the 2016 film Chaar Sahibzaade: Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur. It is said that Harman will be turning producer. His mother Pammi Baweja is also a producer.

Superstar Salman Khan turns a year older on December 27. This time for the first time in living memory, Salman won’t be taking off for his farmhouse in Panvel with his family and his friends.

One of his closest friends informs me, “This is the first time we’re not going to bring in Bhai’s birthday and the New Year at his farm. I don’t think there will be any celebration this year. I saw some reports in the media that he will have a smaller celebration this year. But as
far as I know, Bhai for the first time will be shooting right through his birthday and the new year for his film (Antim) with his brother-in-law. And since this is a film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar there is bound to be some kind of celebration on Bhai’s birthday on the set.”

Mahesh Manjrekar is not only directing Salman and brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in Antim, he is also a close friend of Salman. Mahesh’s daughter Saaee was introduced opposite Salman in Dabangg 3. There were rumours that she is also part of Antim. Mahesh has denied these rumours.

Speaking of birthday celebrations, last month it was Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday. He has requested fans not to congregate outside his home to greet him on that special day. Salman, we are told will also make a similar request to his fans.

On December 11, Ajay Devgn announced that he’s all set to begin the shoot of his ambitious directorial venture, MayDay, in a start to finish schedule. Moreover, he also mentioned in his announcement that his film will release on April 29, 2022. It didn’t take much time to realize that Ajay’s film will release in the beneficial extended Eid weekend. However, as we all know, Eid has been a Salman Khan bastion. Hence, the industry and trade are already buzzing that a major clash of the titans is going to take place on Eid 2022.

A source says, “Since the film is titled MayDay, Ajay Devgn decided to release the film in Aprilend and beginning of the month of May. Also, with Eid also falling on the same weekend (Monday, May 2), it’ll be a double benefit for them since International Day Of Labour, Maharashtra Day and Gujarat Day fall on Sunday, May 1.”

The source adds, “Salman Khan obviously would not like to let go of the Eid week. By then, he’s expected to finish Tiger 3. And if all goes well, even Kick 2 will be ready for release. So either of the 2 films are expected to make it on April 29. If that happens, it’ll result in a clash of two big films. Tiger 3 and Kick 2 both, obviously, would be mounted on a grand scale. MayDay, meanwhile, is also expected to be a big-screen spectacle. Even the star cast comprising Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh is exciting. Audiences are sure to be spoilt for choice on Eid 2022.”

However, a trade expert confides, “Both the films of Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan are going to be very costly. The clash would prove detrimental. We are hoping that either of the films will move and that only one film arrives in the Eid week.”

Till 2019, Salman Khan’s film had always come solo on Eid. But a clash of MayDay and Tiger 3/Kick 2 won’t be the first time that Salman would face competition at the festival. In 2021, his much awaited flick Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai is expected to clash with John Abraham’s massy actioner Satyameva Jayate 2. Both the films are slated to release on May 12, 2021.

Last night television stars Karanvir Bohra and his wife Teejay Sidhu had a new member arriving in their family. Far away in Vancouver, Teejay gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They are already the proud parents of twin daughters.

And they couldn’t contain their excitement as they informed me of the good news.

Says Karanvir, “Yes Subhashji, it’s another girl in our family. We had already decided that either a girl or a boy would be equally welcome. If it was a boy it would have been Laxmi, Saraswati and Ganesha in our family. Since it’s another girl it is Laxmi, Saraswati and Parvati. I consider myself most blessed. Om Namashivay.”

Laughs Karanvir with joy, “I’ve become Charlie, now that I’ve got three angels. Charlie’s Angels, Laxmi, Sarawsati and Parvati.”

Karanvir’s twins are also very excited about their new sibling. “Our twin daughters Vienna and Raya Bella are very excited. All through the pregnancy they keep kissing my wife Teejay’s tummy and wishing the baby ‘Good Morning’ and ‘Good Night’ every day. ”

Adds Teejay excitedly, “Teen Deviyan in our family. This is the most exciting journey of our life. We thought we would share it with you first since aap hamari donon betiyan ko bahot pyar karte. Here’s another little daughter for you to love. We thought we’d break the news with you.”

Karanvir Bohra & wife Teejay Sidhu are ecstatic to have been blessed with a baby girl, as parents for the second time. The couple who are already parents to two beautiful twin baby girls Bella & Vienna, once again became parents to be in the early stages of the lockdown, and have now delivered a healthy baby girl back at Teejay's home in Canada.

An excited Karanvir shares,"Hamare ghar pe ab teen deviyan aayi hai! Lakshmi, Saraswati and now Paravati! I am proud to be a father to three beautiful daughters! Teejay and I over the moon to have this lovely angel in our lives. Bella and Vienna are also very excited to welcome home their baby sister. The feeling is amazing, and we are all on top of the world as it's now going to be an absolute full house!".
